In our family, honoring Dr. Doris Jones-Wilson comes from the heart. Almost all of us have sat under her leadership — in rehearsals, Christmas Concerts at the Mildred E. Sebastian, or early Sunday mornings where she pushed us toward excellence. She expected our best because she always gave hers.
Her lessons were bigger than music. She taught us discipline, purpose, and the power of using our gifts to uplift others. We worked hard — sometimes harder than we thought possible — because she helped us see what we were capable of.
Today, we honor her legacy through the Dr. Doris Jones Wilson Scholarship Fund, supporting young musicians just as she supported so many of us. This is our way of continuing the standard she set and ensuring her light lives on in the next generation.
