LaLa Speaks Foundation was born in response to a devastating loss; the sudden and unexpected passing of the founder’s daughter due to an undiagnosed brain aneurysm. Her death, like so many others, was silent. No warnings. No time. Just gone. This tragic reality isn’t rare; it’s happening every 18 minutes in the U.S., and it disproportionately affects communities that often have the least access to information, education, or preventative care.
LaLa Speaks Foundation exists to change that.
We are a St. Louis-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit on a mission to amplify awareness, educate the public, and save lives through early detection and brain health advocacy. Our work centers around bringing life-saving knowledge to schools, churches, and underserved communities where symptoms are too often misunderstood, overlooked, or ignored.
Our signature initiative, Silent Sounds, Loud Impact, is a mobile and in-person community experience designed to help people understand the warning signs of brain aneurysms. Through engaging school programming, community events, and trusted partnerships, we bring together health education, mental wellness, and prevention resources in a way that’s relatable, accessible, and rooted in compassion.
We also run a citywide campaign called “Know the Signs. Save a Life.” This awareness effort includes print materials in salons, gyms, schools, and churches; real stories told through reels and community conversations; and partnerships with local media to elevate brain health into public consciousness. We believe awareness should be everywhere, not just in hospitals, but on buses, barbershop walls, and in the hands of every family.
At LaLa Speaks Foundation, we meet people where they are, physically and emotionally. We host pop-up advocacy events, provide health toolkits, and show up in spaces that other health organizations often overlook. Our vision is to reach individuals before a rupture; to equip them with the knowledge that could save their life or the life of someone they love.
We are also developing LaLa’s Legacy, an educational initiative that brings health literacy and early detection resources directly into high schools, youth groups, and community centers. This work includes speaking engagements, printed resource guides, and health expert partnerships that make brain health a conversation, not an afterthought.
As a young organization, our strength lies in our urgency, our clarity, and our connection to the community. We may be new, but we are focused, relentless, and unwavering in our mission. Every donation made to LaLa Speaks Foundation on Give STL Day goes directly toward program development, resource creation, and building the infrastructure to bring brain aneurysm awareness to every corner of St. Louis.
We are building something lasting, a movement that not only honors the memory of a young woman whose life was stolen too soon but also uplifts every family impacted by this silent killer.
Your support doesn’t just fund a nonprofit. It fuels a mission that's grounded in love, built on resilience, and committed to saving lives.
Together, we can break the silence. Together, we can save lives.
