LaLa Speaks Foundation was born from devastating loss, but it is being built as a movement for awareness, education, advocacy, and action.
After founder Jazzie Ford lost her daughter, Jacqueline “LaLa” Rhone, to a ruptured brain aneurysm, one truth became impossible to ignore: too many families are learning about brain aneurysms only after it is too late.
LaLa Speaks Foundation exists to change that.
We are a St. Louis-based nonprofit advancing brain aneurysm awareness, brain health education, early intervention, survivor-centered advocacy, and community-based support. Through storytelling, outreach, free educational resources, trusted partnerships, and public awareness experiences, we bring life-saving information into spaces where families can learn before crisis strikes.
Our flagship initiative, Silent Sounds, Loud Impact, transforms awareness into action by making brain health education accessible, memorable, and community-centered. This work is expanding across Missouri through schools, libraries, community centers, workplaces, health and wellness spaces, faith spaces, and trusted neighborhood settings.
LaLa Speaks Foundation is also building L.A.L.A. pathways that support healing, youth voice, workforce readiness, media storytelling, and community recovery. These pathways include L.A.L.A. Reclaim & Rise, L.A.L.A. Creative Youth Pathways, L.A.L.A. Workforce Pathway, and L.A.L.A. From Da Block 2 Broadcast.
This work is personal, but it is also public health. Every conversation matters. Every family deserves access to information. Every community deserves the chance to recognize warning signs before it is too late.
LaLa was taken. Another family should not have to be.
