LaLa Speaks Foundation was born from devastating loss after the sudden and unexpected passing of the founder’s daughter due to an undiagnosed brain aneurysm. Her death, like so many others, was silent. No warning. No time. Just gone. This tragic reality is more common than many realize, with a brain aneurysm rupture happening every 18 minutes in the United States. It disproportionately affects communities that often have the least access to information, education, and preventive care.
LaLa Speaks Foundation exists to change that.
We are a St. Louis-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit committed to saving lives through brain aneurysm awareness, education, advocacy, and early detection. Our work brings life-saving knowledge into schools, churches, workplaces, and community spaces where symptoms are too often misunderstood, overlooked, or ignored.
Our flagship initiative, Silent Sounds, Loud Impact, is a mobile and in-person brain health awareness experience that blends music, storytelling, and interactive learning to help communities recognize the warning signs of brain aneurysms and other neurological emergencies. Through school activations, community events, and strategic partnerships, the experience transforms complex health information into meaningful dialogue and practical action that participants can carry back to their families and communities.
LaLa Speaks Foundation also advances this mission through pathways that support youth engagement, workforce development, healing, and responsible storytelling. Our current ecosystem includes L.A.L.A. Creative Youth Pathway, L.A.L.A. Workforce Pathway, L.A.L.A. From Da Block 2 Broadcast and L.A.L.A. Reclaim & Rise, each is designed to expand access, build confidence, and strengthen community voice while keeping awareness, healing, and advocacy at the center.
We place special focus on communities that have historically faced barriers to preventive care and health education, including Black and Hispanic communities, while also serving youth, women, families, and the broader public. Our outreach is community-centered, culturally relevant, and rooted in the belief that awareness should reach people before a crisis occurs. This commitment is reflected in our free educational resources, public storytelling, and partnerships across healthcare, education, media, and community sectors.
As a growing organization, LaLa Speaks Foundation has already demonstrated meaningful community impact. Since launching in June 2024, we have engaged thousands through outreach, education, and support, including households served, relief kits distributed, mental health referrals facilitated, and community pop-up events hosted.
At our core, we are building more than awareness. We are building a movement rooted in compassion, credibility, equity, and action. What began as unimaginable pain has become a platform for education, advocacy, and life-saving community engagement. We are turning pain into passion and working every day to ensure that more families have access to the knowledge, resources, and conversations that can save lives.
Silence is Deadly. Awareness Saves Lives.
