UKirk - St. Louis

A nonprofit organization

UKirk, or "university church," is in its third academic year of ministry, and it's been a joy to see how God has grown this ministry. A ministry of the Presbytery of Giddings - Lovejoy, UKirk gathers regularly on Sunday nights for dinner & worship with communion, as well as meeting regularly on campus throughout the semester for small groups and fellowship and service events. UKirk also organizes a Fall Retreat and Spring Break Service Retreat, as well as a cohort to attend the Winter College Conference at Montreat, NC.

UKirk meets students at the crossroads of college. Through worship, through fellowship, through service, UKirk reflects the Good News - that God is with us as we live out our faith and our identity as children of God. As you might expect a community at the crossroads to be, UKirk is constantly in motion. Throughout the year, we have new students connecting in, students studying abroad, students who can only plug in to certain community gatherings, and students who connect in during winter or summer breaks when they are back in St. Louis from school. It's been exciting to see the myriad of ways that students have connected with this ministry over the past two years, and it has been such a gift to see Christ at work in students' lives - the ways that students have claimed their faith as their own, apart from their parents and families.
