Tennessee Williams St. Louis

A nonprofit organization

We are getting ready for a Red Hot Season! The 9th annual, 2024, Tennessee Williams Festival features Cat On a Hot Tin Roof, Life Upon a Wicked Stage: a collection of One Acts by Tennessee Williams, and a Scholar Panel. Every year, our festival aims to highlight a St. Louis Neighborhood, and this year we are thrilled to host our festival in Grand Center!

Since its inception, TWStL has embraced the work of the legendary playwright, poet and artist, whose works include multiple Pulitzer Prizes such as "The Glass Menagerie," "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof," and "A Streetcar Named Desire," to name a few. Williams' work reflects the nearly 20 years his family lived in St. Louis, and his creations range from the famed classics to adaptations for film and opera, to dozens of newly discovered plays and writings that have been continuously documented, performed and studied around the world. TWStL, founded by St. Louisan Carrie Houk, has attracted thousands to its variety of readings, radio plays, panel discussions, concerts, art exhibitions, productions, and playwright contests.

With your support, we can continue not only to carry on William's legacy, but highlight the success of St. Louis Theatre makers and the life changing power of local arts in St. Louis
