Sophia sat quietly, staring at a blank page, unsure of what to draw. When invited to share, she hesitated, then slowly began sketching. By the end of the session, she held up her pink artwork and said, “This is how I feel.” For the first time, she found a way to be heard.
Through Courage Canvas, we create moments like this.
Our art workshops focus on emotional expression, mental well-being, and creative communication, providing safe, supportive spaces for underserved youth to explore their identities and express feelings that are often difficult to put into words.
Each session is built around themes such as identity, resilience, and gratitude, and includes interactive activities like guided drawing, visual storytelling, and reflective prompts. Participants connect personal experiences with art, building confidence, self-awareness, and a stronger sense of voice. All materials are provided to ensure full engagement.
At the heart of the program is connection. Students share their artwork and the stories behind them, fostering empathy, active listening, and a sense of belonging. Over time, many who begin hesitant become more open and expressive.
Your support makes this possible:
$25 → provides art supplies for one student
$50 → supports one full workshop session
$100 → funds a group workshop for underserved youth
$500 → sponsors an entire art workshop program
This Give STL Day 2026, we aim to expand these workshops and reach more students who need a safe space to be seen and heard.
Donate today and help turn creativity into healing. Thank you so much.
