A child looks at a science worksheet and frowns.

The words feel confusing cells, organs, systems too abstract, too far away.

But then the lesson changes.

“Imagine your body is a tiny city,” the teacher says.

Suddenly, cells become workers, the heart becomes a pump, and the brain sends messages like lightning. The child leans forward, curious. Science is no longer difficult and it’s alive.

Through Courage Canvas, we are launching Little Biology, a youth-focused initiative to design and deliver a fun, story-based biology curriculum for young children, especially underserved youth. Instead of memorization, our curriculum transforms complex biological concepts into interactive stories, visuals, and hands-on activities that connect directly to everyday life.

Each lesson is carefully designed to build curiosity and understanding from how the body works, to how emotions affect physical health, to how simple daily habits shape well-being. Students don’t just learn biology and they experience it through storytelling, discussion, and creative exploration.

The program also emphasizes confidence and communication, encouraging children to ask questions, share ideas, and express what they’ve learned. Over time, students shift from passive learners to active thinkers developing both scientific curiosity and a stronger voice.

This initiative reflects our belief that science should inspire, not intimidate. By starting early and making biology accessible, we empower young learners to see themselves as capable, curious, and confident explorers of the world around them.

Sample Curriculum Structure:

1. Your Body as a City

2. Why Your Heart Beats Faster

3. What Happens When You Eat

4. Why You Feel Emotions in Your Body

5. How Your Body Grows and Heals
