Imagine being in the third grade and working on your multiplication tables (we all loved those, right?). Math isn't your favorite and the concept is new, but you are trying. Mistakes are going to happen, and your teacher says it's okay, just erase and try again. But your pencil eraser is all used up and you don't have one of those big pink erasers like your classmates. So, you raise your hand and ask to use "the classroom eraser", a big pink eraser that lives on the teacher's desk that anyone can use. You walk to the front of the room, grab the eraser to fix your mistake and then take it back to the teacher's desk. You do this EVERY TIME you make a mistake. But it's embarrassing. Classmates know how often you got the answer wrong. Eventually you get frustrated and just turn the paper in with mistakes. If only you had your own pink eraser.
KidSmart works hard everyday to ensure over 90,000 kids in the St. Louis region can fully access education - that they ALL have their own pink erasers, notebooks, pencils, pens, highlighters, glue, markers, scissors, rulers, crayons and folders. Every class, desk and backpack MUST be filled with the essential tools for learning if our kids are even going to begin to learn, become critical thinkers and be ready to take on the world as adults.

We don't just assist at back to school time, we work with our teachers throughout the entire year to restock their classrooms, bring in the supplies specifically needed for their curriculum and match the customized needs of each and every child.
