Impacting Black Communities – One Connection at a Time
Our Vision for St. Louis:
Imagine a St. Louis where everyone, regardless of their zip code or background, can grow, thrive, and live the life they envision. A city not defined by its challenges, but by its resilience, innovation, and commitment to equity.
At Da Hood Connect, we’re bringing that vision to life. We’re impacting Black communities—one connection at a time by breaking down social and economic barriers and building the systems of support our people need and deserve.
Who We Are:
Da Hood Connect is a Black-led nonprofit committed to strengthening the support systems that help Black and under-resourced communities thrive. Through media, education, and culturally grounded events, we reduce social and economic rriers and uplift Black culture, identity, and connection. We exist to identify, address, and reduce the barriers Black and under-resourced communities face—by creating pathways through education, advocacy, and meaningful relationships. We envision a world where Black and underserved communities have full, equitable access to the resources they need to heal, grow, and succeed.
Why We Organize: Uplift Da Hood
We believe strong communities are built one relationship, one conversation, and one connection at a time.
That’s why this Give STL Day (May 8, 2025), we’re raising $2,500 to fund efforts that drive real, lasting change:
- Staff & Community Help Workers – The trusted connectors who bridge the gap between community needs and resources.
- Events & Engagement – Community cookouts, cultural events, panels, and workshops that educate, heal, and mobilize.
- Capacity Building – Expanding our infrastructure so we can serve more families, train more partners, and build stronger neighborhoods.
In 2024 alone, 84% of our event attendees connected with someone new, and 83% learned about a new resource. This year, we’re going further, with a new follow-up process to make sure folks don’t just show up, but stay connected.
