Hi, everyone! I'm raising funds for Even Chance Pit Bull Rescue, specifically for Fig, my foster dog.
Fig has been with me since last July. Fig had been in the shelter for weeks when I learned about her from a volunteer's Instagram account. I was in the middle of getting a haircut when a text exchange about her with my co-directors resulted in me leaving the salon and going straight to the shelter to meet her. Fig (who was called "Darling" by shelter staff) was in rough shape. She had been found as a stray in Florissant, Missouri and there's no telling how long she had been out on her own...I quickly decided she was going home with me.
Fast forward 10 months. We've dealt with an upper respiratory infection, a nasty "heat" cycle that lasted months, a rough spay because of cystic ovaries and really delicate tissue, urinary tract infections, giardia, mastitis, chronic skin issues and allergies, and ear issues from her skin/allergy stuff. She has the funniest grumpy personality, is as stubborn as they come, and keeps me on my toes. She has received extensive medical care/treatments, medications, supplements, medicated baths, etc and that all obviously comes with a cost, but I'm actually hoping to fundraise for something a little different for Give STL Day....
As we've been trying to get to the root of her skin issues, we've transitioned Fig to a raw food diet and I add goats milk, a probiotic, and an omega 3 oil with it. Her food (Primal Pet Foods) comes frozen and each bag lasts her 4 days (she gets 1.5 patties twice daily). Each bag is $44.98 pre-tax.
Between this food and the new skin treatments I started in March, I think we're finally seeing some improvement! However...the cost of her food is extreme for a rescue that receives no local/state/federal funding. I don't know if she'll need to be on this food forever, but for the time being, I'm committed to keeping her on it as long as she's making progress.
I'll happily sacrifice my freezer and refrigerator space for her food and supplements, but I need your help covering the costs of the food itself. At this rate, Even Chance will spend over $2,000 on her food in the next 6 months. If she’s with us for a year on this food…over $4,000…
Will you help me get Fig what she needs?! A donation of $180 would cover 4 bags of her food; $135: three bags, $90: two bags, $45: one bag, $22.50: half a bag!
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!
