THE FIRST THREE: Lucy, Brown Dog & Black Dog

A BIG CHANCE TO SAVE LIVES!

We are so excited and grateful to announce that thanks to a very generous HT adopter and donor who has asked to remain anonymous, we have been offered a $20,000 matching grant for our Medical Fund and to acknowledge HT's annual Remembrance Day event on November 12th.

Remembrance Day allows us all to acknowledge the animals who have played a pivotal role in our lives, now or in the past and pay it forward for others still needing our lifesaving efforts. Thousands of animals are still waiting for our help to have the chance at love and a warm bed like the animal(s) in your life were so lucky and grateful to have.

The photo above is the very first three dogs ever rescued by HT - before HT even existed. Founder Sue Bell met them at a rural West Virginia shelter and knew she had to save their lives, not knowing it would set forward a path where more than 50,000 animals would be rescued.

Lucy, Brown Dog & Black Dog made the 6-hour trip in the back of her Subaru to DC in 2002 with no plan in place for them other than to ensure they got the chance at life they deserved & to pay it forward for the 50 animals that had lost their lives by drowning at this West Virginia shelter months prior. They would lead the way to saving tens of thousands more animals in remembrance of the deceased dogs and cats who tragically died.

Our work continues day in and day out to save the lives of dogs like these three and the 50 before them we never got to meet. Every dollar, every hour spent, every mile driven - it all saves lives.

PLEASE consider a donation today of any size so that we can meet the goal and secure this amazing match opportunity.

MEMORY STONES TO HONOR YOUR PET

Franny was one of the first 25 dogs HT rescuedDonations of $200 or more will receive a customized stone to be hosted in the beautiful gardens at our Trails Home Farm where your pet's memory will live among the fresh country winds and warm sunshine.

***ALL DONATIONS MUST BE RECEIVED BY DECEMBER 1ST FOR THE MATCH **

On this Remembrance Day (November 12th) we also pay our most loving tribute to the wonderful animal champion Jane Goodall whose funeral will be held this same day. We feel it's a perfect way to honor the lives she too saved and improved in her lifetime.

Little Bri rescued just before she was to be euthanized - way back in 2005. Please donate and share with us the stories and photos of your amazing animals and allow us to honor them with a memory stone so that we can cherish their memories and their loving spirits - both of which give us the energy to work so hard to save animals just like them.

We think every animal deserves a warm bed, a place to feel safe and a long, loving life. Please help us make that possible for those who still need us.
