$4,000 Goal

We hope you will join us in uplifting our neighbors without housing. With the help of highly trained staff and tireless volunteers, we provide housing and daily living support to adults who are homeless in St. Louis City, especially those who experience chronic mental illness, addiction, or live with HIV.

Years ago, we began as a grassroots movement in Soulard when the community was heartbroken by the passing of a homeless man who froze to death in the neighborhood. Local business leaders, two Catholic churches, and one Lutheran church banded together to form a winter emergency shelter. That original shelter soon became year-round Soulard Shelter. An independent nonprofit within just a few years of our start, PPCS has grown to currently offer five programs, always responding to community needs as they become evident.

PPCS stands as a testament to the thousands of volunteers, donors, staff, and alumni who have built us up over the decades. Our nonprofit organization is a crucial part of the safety net for our St. Louis community. We offer those we serve hope, empowerment, compassion, hospitality, and a chance for a more safe, stable, and fulfilling life.
