The St. Louis Community Foundation is excited to host a variety of FREE virtual Give STL Day trainings for nonprofits in the St. Louis region. These trainings will help you plan your Give STL Day campaign and strengthen your year-round digital and fundraising strategies.


Give STL Day | Getting Started

Thursday, February 26 | 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM

Presenter: Grace Draper, Mightycause

Our platform partner Mightycause will be walking nonprofits through steps to register on the giving day platform, and providing an overview of your organization dashboard/settings. In addition, Mightycause will cover how to utilize Text-to-Give and Embeds (NEW! for Give STL Day 2026). 

Canva for Fundraising | Part 1

Presenter: Arkayla Tenney-Howard, Wildflower Communications

Looking to elevate your nonprofit’s fundraising efforts for #GiveSTLDay? This interactive workshop is designed for nonprofit leaders and changemakers who need a crash-course in communications and graphic design. Participants will start by setting personal fundraising goals, followed by a hands-on Canva session where they’ll learn to use official #GiveSTLDay branding and templates to create compelling, shareable graphics for social media, email, and beyond. The workshop will conclude with an actionable outreach plan, where attendees will identify 3-5 simple tasks—like sharing their graphics with friends, posting on social media, or sending email appeals—to maximize donor engagement and fundraising success.

Posting with Intention: A Beginner's Guide to Social Media Fundraising

You're invited to this beginner-friendly workshop exploring how to create revenue-generating social media posts, from caption to call-to-action. In this session, participants will learn how to craft effective captions, utilize high-impact key messages, and plan consecutive social media posts with content planning tools designed by Lauren Alexandra, narrative strategist and founder of Restore Roots Co.

Canva for Fundraising | Part 2

You don’t have to attend the first workshop to attend this one! A baseline knowledge of the basic uses of Canva will be helpful in this session. 

Building upon the first workshop, this time we will dive deeper into some special tools in Canva that make sustaining your comms work easier. Things like building a brand kit, saving templates, and more. By the end of this session, you will have a brand kit built in Canva AND you will have a template for all of your fundraising posts on social media. 

Posting with Intention: A Collaborative Working Session to Answer FAQs
