Dear St. Louis Community,
In 2012, Viva Brasil STL was born out of a heartfelt desire to bridge Brazilian and American communities through the vibrant tapestry of Brazilian culture. Founded by Jaqueline Shafer and Carolina Holtmeyer, two Brazilian mothers who married Americans and raised their children in St. Louis, the organization has been a beacon of cultural preservation and education. They recognized the importance of instilling their rich heritage in their families, and this passion led to the creation of Viva Brasil STL.
However, with recent reductions in federal support, our mission to keep Brazilian culture alive through education and the arts faces significant challenges. Now, more than ever, we rely on the generosity of our community to continue our vital work.
Your gracious donation will directly support:
-
The Viva Brasil Scholarship: Empowering students to pursue their dreams while staying connected to their cultural roots.
-
Portuguese Language Programs: Offering language classes that help bridge generations and foster a deeper understanding of Brazilian heritage.
-
Cultural Events in Public Schools: Bringing the joy and richness of Brazilian culture to young minds across St. Louis.
-
Community Events and Festivals: Including the beloved Brazilian Folk Festival, also known as Festa Junina, which celebrates our traditions and brings people together in joyous celebration.
We understand that you have many options when it comes to charitable giving. However, we believe that supporting culture and education is crucial for the growth and enrichment of our community. By donating to Viva Brasil STL, you are not just preserving a culture; you are nurturing a community, fostering understanding, and creating a legacy for future generations.
Join us in this important mission. Your support can make a world of difference.
Thank you for your generosity and commitment to cultural preservation.
Warm regards,
The Viva Brasil STL Team
