We advocate for and empower transgender and gender-expansive humans seeking emergency shelter, rental housing, and home-ownership.
We train and educate organizations providing shelter and housing to transgender and gender-expansive people.
We are building a network across organizations to document housing disparities for transgender and gender-expansive folks, confront those disparities, and design solutions by creating new systems or reforming existing systems.
We are working towards facilitating decent, safe housing that is affordable to low-income transgender and gender-expansive humans.

Mission

THISTL empowers and advocates for transgender and gender-expansive humans' right to safe and equitable housing.

We believe in a housing-first approach to homelessness. Safe and stable housing is the foundation for improving quality of life, and everyone is deserving of that opportunity. We believe liberation that can only be achieved through solidarity across movements.
