Thomas Dunn Learning Center (TDLC) is a community education center located in Marquette Park in the Dutchtown neighborhood. We are a private nonprofit, 501(c)3 organization, serving the St. Louis region since 1930 through formal and social education and celebrating our 95th Anniversary this year!
Each of the photos in our media gallery below tells of a recent story adding to the lifelong learning that happens daily, 7 days a week, at Thomas Dunn Learning Center. Every donation we receive adds directly to our region's economic, environmental, and social/human sustainability.
Besides our walk-in services to use our library, computer lab, civics kiosk, food & toiletries pantry, and other assorted services and resources, our programs fall into four categories.
1. Adult Education: "High School Equivalency Program", "Money Mondays", and "What's Next?" are the foundation.
2. Arts and Culture: "Open Art Studio", themed art receptions and sculpture park, cultural cooking classes, sewing and textiles, lectures, book signings, and more.
3. Youth Enrichment: "The Place... to be on Friday Nights", "Southside Youth Council", and assorted summer camps, harnesses youth idealism. Referrals to over 80 "Youth Provider Coalition" members continue providing for them.
4. Civics and Community: "Community Potluck", Town Hall Forums, "Repair Cafe'', "Senior Game Day", "VINES" Gardening and more add to the 40+ partnerships with other organization that use our facilities to bring their classes and programs to the community.
We are YOUR Community Education Center. Please, take a class, tutor a student, and especially support us financially so we can continue the important classes, workshops, events, and services we provide. Thank you.
