The St. Louis Public Schools Foundation is dedicated to bridging funding gaps and advancing equity within the St. Louis Public Schools (SLPS) district. The Foundation invests in initiatives that ensure students are prepared, engaged, and on track throughout their educational journey. Collaborating closely with district leadership, we focus on three key areas: health and wellbeing, PreK – 8th grade literacy, and post-secondary opportunity.
Health & Wellbeing: Recognizing that students thrive when their basic and developmental needs are met. Foundation-supported initiatives include the AIM for Fitness program promoting healthy lifestyle habits, the Family Stability Fund providing financial assistance for basic needs, and school-embedded therapists offering mental health support.
PreK – 8th Grade Literacy: Reading is essential to post-secondary success. We support initiatives like phonics-based professional development for early childhood educators and home libraries for students. Additionally, our ESOL Bilingual Parent Library provides resources for English Language Learner families to support literacy at home.
Post-Secondary Opportunity: To prepare students for life beyond high school, the Foundation supports college and career readiness programs. These include the Early College Academy offering dual-enrollment opportunities and the Learn & Earn Internship Program placing students in paid work experiences.
Through partnership and community engagement, the Foundation serves as a trusted bridge, leveraging resources and expertise to close funding gaps and foster innovation in SLPS. Your support on Give STL Day helps us continue this vital work, empowering students and educators while fostering a more equitable and successful educational environment.
