The Scholarship Foundation of St. Louis

A nonprofit organization

The Scholarship Foundation of St. Louis provides financial support and guidance to help make college attendance and graduation a reality for students with limited financial means. The Foundation fulfills its mission in three ways: awarding scholarship grants and interest-free loans directly to students; advising students and families on the financial process; and advocating for more equitable higher education policies on campus, state, and federal levels.

Applicants for financial awards must demonstrate significant financial need, good character, and academic potential to receive funding. With its renewable interest-free, fee-free loans and grants, the Foundation aims to reduce student debt burden by filling students' financial aid gaps. Foundation Student Advisors provide students and families with group and one-on-one guidance on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), the college application process, and managing higher education debt. The Foundation's student-led advocacy program pursues higher education policies that increase access and affordability for students who are low-income, first-generation, undocumented, or otherwise underrepresented in college.

Mission

The Scholarship Foundation of St. Louis, a nonprofit organization founded in 1920, is based upon the conviction that an educated society is essential to a healthy democracy. The Scholarship Foundation provides access to postsecondary education to members of our community who otherwise would not have the financial means to fulfill their educational goals.
