We hope you will join us in uplifting our neighbors without housing. With the help of highly trained staff and tireless volunteers, we provide housing and daily living support to adults who are homeless in St. Louis City, especially people who experience chronic mental illness, addiction, or live with HIV.
Years ago, we began as a grassroots movement in Soulard when the community was heartbroken by the passing of a man who was homeless froze to death in the neighborhood. Local business leaders, two Catholic churches, and one Lutheran church banded together to form a winter emergency shelter. That original shelter soon became the year-round Soulard Shelter. An independent nonprofit within just a few years of our start, PPCS has grown to currently offer five programs, always responding to community needs as they become evident.
PPCS stands as a testament to the thousands of volunteers, donors, staff, and alumni who have built us up over the decades. Our nonprofit organization is a crucial part of the safety net for our St. Louis community. We offer the people we serve hope, empowerment, compassion, hospitality, and a chance for a more safe, stable, and fulfilling life.
PETER & PAUL COMMUNITY CAMPUS
The Peter & Paul Community Campus is a centralized location where PPCS provides a full continuum of care for individuals facing homelessness. The campus combines emergency shelter, transitional housing, and supportive services under one roof—creating a connected, compassionate environment that helps people move from crisis to stability.
At the Community Campus, guests and residents can access safe shelter, nutritious meals, case management, healthcare connections, job and housing assistance, and community support. By housing multiple PPCS programs together, the campus strengthens coordination between services and gives people a clearer, faster path toward permanent housing and independence.
