WHAT GOOD ARE WE DOING?
Your support of NAMI St. Louis is making a difference. It provides needed education, support and advocacy to many individuals and families across St. Louis City, St. Louis County, St. Charles County, Lincoln County, Warren County, Jefferson County, and Franklin County.

Here is how your contribution helps those in need:

• A total of over 38,398 individuals from 7 counties were served by NAMI St. Louis in 2024.

• Ending the Silence is an in-school presentation designed to teach middle school & high school students about the sign and symptoms of mental health conditions, how to recognize the early warning signs and the importance of acknowledging those warning signs. Since September of 2018 we have trained over 40,000 students, staff and families and given over 1,600 presentations. In 2024, we reached over 7,680 students during 324 ETS presentations.

    • Check out our recent PBS Story about Ending the Silence!

• Trained over 45 new NAMI St. Louis education leaders in Family-to-Family, Family & Peer Support Groups, and In Our Own Voice. These individuals went through training to gain empathy, communication tools, problem solving skills, and understanding about mental health conditions to help others in their time of need.

•NAMI St. Louis held 195 Family & Peer Support Groups across the region that helped over 1,670 individuals and family members. These groups provide an opportunity to share needs, hopes, and successes with each other in a safe, confidential setting.

•Mental Health presentations are held within communities and organizations to provide education and information about mental health conditions. During 2024, we served over 1,350 individuals during our presentations.

• Crisis Intervention Training (CIT) - NAMI St. Louis provides training to law enforcement agencies in the Eastern region. This training helps those responding to a volatile situation have the tools to be effective and turn a potentially serious situation into a good outcome for all. In 2024, 458 officers and first responders have been trained during the 22 in-person trainings. In 2023 we celebrated CIT's 20th Anniversity! Since 2003, we have trained over 8,500 new CIT officers and first responders throughout the St. Louis region.

• NAMI St. Louis answered over 1,138 Helpline calls in 2024. Our Helpline provides callers with community mental health resources that are needed now more than ever.

So, what good are we doing? A lot, but your support is needed! NAMI St. Louis is making a difference with family and community education programs, law enforcement training, support of local community based programs, and fighting stigma through advocacy programs.
