The Moog Center for Deaf Education

A nonprofit organization

The Moog Center for Deaf Education is an independent, not-for-profit organization serving children who are deaf or hard of hearing learning to listen and talk. Our vision is a world in which all children who are deaf or hard of hearing reach their fullest potential and thrive in all areas of life. At The Moog Center, we combine advanced auditory access, individualized spoken language intervention, and targeted academic instruction to prepare children for successful transitions into general education classrooms.

The Moog Center offers five intervention programs: Pediatric Audiology, Family School, Preschool, Early Elementary, and Teleschool.

  • Pediatric Audiology ensures optimal access to sound, creating the foundation for language learning.
  • Family School serves children from birth to age three, offering individualized direct therapy and group sessions paired with parent support and coaching.
  • Preschool and Early Elementary programs support children ages three to nine in developing speech, vocabulary, language, listening, literacy, and academic skills necessary for successful integration into general education settings.
  • Teleschool extends our services beyond our local area, providing remote coaching to families and educators to accelerate progress for children nationwide.

Our primary objective at The Moog Center is to teach children critical listening and spoken language skills needed to develop academic skills so they can thrive in general education classrooms and participate fully in social and extracurricular activities. Continued community support is essential to sustaining our mission: teaching children who are deaf or hard of hearing to use listening and spoken language as their primary means of communication.

Mission

We teach children who are deaf or hard of hearing to talk and we teach others to do it, too.

The Moog Center provides a supportive and stimulating learning environment for children who are deaf or hard of hearing and their families.

The Mission of The Moog Center has three key components:

1. To empower children who are deaf or hard of hearing by providing them with the tools, support, and opportunities to learn to listen and talk so they can be successful academically and, in the world, at large.

2. To support and empower the families of these children to enhance their development of listening and spoken language.

3. To raise awareness about the potential of children who are deaf or hard of hearing within the broader community and to share best practices for supporting these children and their families.

We are committed to ensuring that every child receives the support they need, regardless of a family's financial circumstances. No child is ever turned away due to inability to pay.
