We Are St. Louis—And We’re Shaping the Future Together
At the Missouri Historical Society, we believe building a stronger St. Louis starts with understanding our shared past- and that work begins with our youngest learners.
Storytelling at the Museum is offered weekly all year long and engages our youngest visitors and their families with songs, movement, traditional and contemporary storybooks, and local history, led by a dedicated educator. History Exploration Days are offered monthly throughout the school year. These programs explore a new topic each month through engaging activities designed for learners from PreK through high school, featuring community collaborators, performances, and hands-on activities and workshops. These experiences spark curiosity, encourage critical thinking, and help students see themselves in the stories of our region.
Your gift can help us connect learners of all ages to the stories of our region.
$10 can provide one book for storytelling.
$60 can fund an entire storytelling experience for early learners.
$190 supports a hands-on activity during History Exploration Days.
The Missouri Historical Society is committed to keeping all of its exhibits and programs free to the public- allowing every student the opportunity to experience all that MHS has to offer, no matter their economic situation.
But that commitment to keep our programs free requires additional funding, and we need your help to support these efforts.
Your gift also helps to support educator training, teaching materials, and supplies that make every visit meaningful. Your donation helps ensure educators have the training, materials, and supplies they need to create meaningful experiences for every visitor. It also supports efforts that enrich learning in new ways- like reimagined galleries, signature events, and expanded access to our collection.
Together, we can inspire the next generation and build a stronger St. Louis- one student at a time.
The Missouri Historical Society has been active in the St. Louis community since 1866. Today we make history meaningful and accessible through our three locations:
• Missouri History Museum in Forest Park
• Library & Research Center on Skinker Boulevard
• Soldiers Memorial Military Museum in downtown St. Louis
MHS serves as the region's confluence for historical perspectives and contemporary issues, preserving and protecting our shared past for generations to come.
