Lydia's House

A nonprofit organization

Lydia's House is the only program in the St. Louis metropolitan area providing confidentially located, long-term, stationery transitional housing specifically for victims of domestic violence. The over-arching goal of the Lydia's House transitional housing program is to help survivors gain the skills and resources necessary for obtaining and sustaining permanent housing and for living independently as individuals and/or as parents. Lydia's House provides that critically needed additional time (up to 24 months) in confidentially located, fully furnished apartments, thereby creating space at the emergency shelters for domestic violence victims in immediate danger.

Mission

Lydia's House mission is providing domestic violence survivors and their children a safe place to heal, a voice for justice, and an opportunity for better and sustainable lives. Since 1994, Lydia's House has been dedicated to providing safe and confidential transitional housing for abused women and their children in the Saint Louis Community.
