Since 1919, the League of Women Voters (LWV) has served as an essential grassroots nonprofit organization in the St. Louis Metropolitan Area and surrounding counties, including St. Charles County, Jefferson County, Warren County, Lincoln County, and Franklin County.
While our primary purpose is to empower voters and defend democracy in a nonpartisan manner, we also support issues that affect our democracy, citizenship, and everyday lives. Throughout the year, our 800+ dedicated volunteers:
- register eligible citizens,
- provide voter education,
- advocate for policies that strengthen our democracy,
- produce an extensive Voters Guide in partnership with the St. Louis Post-Dispatch,
- provide current voter information through LWV’s vote411.org,
- moderate candidate forums for mayoral, aldermanic, city council, and school board races, empowering individuals to be well-informed voters,
- deliver informative presentations through our speakers bureau services, and
- lead an innovative youth civics program designed specifically for local high school students (launched in 2026).
A generous gift today directly supports our core mission, funds our educational and community outreach programs, and helps us empower ALL voters while defending democracy for everyone in our region. Your contribution makes a meaningful difference in strengthening civic participation and ensuring that every voice is heard in our democratic process.
