Lemay Child & Family Center

Founded in 1975, Lemay Child and Family Center (previously known as Lemay Daycare) is a year round early childhood education center with programs for children 6 weeks old through 12 years old. Lemay Child and Family Center (LCFC) provides access to high quality early education and support for families in a diverse, nurturing environment, regardless of a family's financial situation or a child's developmental level. LCFC partners with families to strengthen and promote children's healthy physical, cognitive and social emotional development.
Who we serve:
• Up to 150 children annually, ages 6 weeks through 12 years old in our Infant Toddler Program, Preschool and School Age Program.
• Currently, 60% of children come from families currently receiving MO Childcare Assistance and 90% of children
enrolled are receiving Lemay Child and Family Center early childhood education scholarships.
• Our children are 49% Caucasian, 16% Bi-racial, 13% African American and 2% Hispanic/Latino
• The majority of families pay less than $60 per week for full time care. Lemay Child and Family Center must raise over $500,000 annually to supplement these fees and meet the
needs of the disadvantaged families we serve.
Our Programs:
• Infant Toddler serves children 6 weeks through 2 years old using a primary caregiver model.
• Young Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten serves children 2-5 years old and utilizes Creative Curriculum to strengthen each child's progress in areas of fine motor, large motor, cognitive and social emotional development.
• School Age serves children 5 through 12 years old in a before and after school program that blends into a full day summer camp with a focus on STEM learning opportunities.
Our Impact:
• 100% of our Pre-Kindergarten students graduate fully prepared for Kindergarten.
• 100% of children needing supplemental therapy services are connected to providers in our community.
• 100% of families in need receive early childhood education scholarships making our high quality program affordable for all families in our community.
Why we are unique:
• We are the only Missouri Accredited early childhood program in the Lemay area.
• We blend a before and after school program into a full day summer camp for children 5-12 years old.
• We establish and maintain strong relationships with children and parents to meet the need in our community.
