The Jefferson Barracks Telephone Museum opened our doors on May, 2016.
Besides its extensive collection of telephones manufactured from the 1800s through 2000s, the museum also contains a working Central Office Step Switch, hundreds of pieces of telephone-related equipment and tools, a telephone pole complete with climbing equipment and hundreds of pieces of telephone-related memorabilia from the 1880s through the 2000s.
The Jefferson Barracks Telephone Museum is staffed by a dedicated group of volunteers, many of whom are former telephone company employees. There are no paid employees. We work extremely hard to make a visit to the museum educational and entertaining and are very proud our museum has received the Trip Advisor traveler's ranking of #2 of 266 Things to Do in St. Louis!
The museum is open Wednesday through Sunday from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.
Enjoy nostalgia from the early years of the telephone. It's a fun family adventure, an educational field trip for students and an enjoyable group outing. We look forward to seeing you soon!
