Hope Happens for Neurological Disorders

A nonprofit organization

Hope Happens financially supports the Hope Center for Neurological Disorders at Washington University School of Medicine where scientists seek treatments and cures for neurological disorders, including ALS, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, Huntington's, multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, stroke, epilepsy, cerebral palsy, brain and spinal cord injury, and many others.

In the United States alone more than fifty million people have a permanent neurological disability that limits their daily activities. We make a difference by enabling dramatic breakthroughs in the area of treatment and prevention of neurodegenerative diseases. Chris Hobler, the founder of Hope Happens, believed that discoveries about one neurological disorder could lead to treatments and cures for others. His vision became a reality. Hope Center researchers have made benchmark breakthroughs showing great promise for new treatments and cures.

Dr. Alison Goate, former Director of the Hope Center, commented about recent achievements, "We have a great deal of work to do, but there's also cause for optimism. At this time, there are more clinical trials for new treatments for neurodegenerative disorders than ever before, and many of these new treatments had their origins in studies aimed at understanding the causes of the diseases, which is the type of research the Hope Center promotes."

Mission

Our mission is to help to improve the quality of life for individuals with neurological disorders by inspiring collaborative research to find treatments leading to cures, providing HOPE to everyone afflicted with or connected to a neurological disease. Our vision is to discover and implement treatments and cures for neurological diseases in our lifetime.

Together we can accelerate research, inspire hope, and honor those we know and love.
