Hootie's Rescue Haven

Hello!  Hootie's is a 40 acre rescue ranch that specializes in abandoned and abused domestic animals.  We rehabilitate and rehome rescued animals, but also provide sanctuary for those who cannot be rehomed for either physical or emotional reasons.  At this writing, we are home to 4 horses, 2 emus, 2 turkeys, 1 goose, 2 ducks, 19 chickens, 15 cats and 23 dogs, with kitten season just around the corner.  We have no administrative staff, so all funds raised go directly to housing, medical needs and feeding these rescued kiddos. We currently have a pony who founders and suffers with COPD.  She requires bouts of pain meds and steroids to maintain a good quality of life along with frequent veterinary visits.  The rest of our horses are in their 20's so require joint supplements. We also have a frenchie with gastrointestinal issues who requires meds and a Great Pyrenees who requires anxiety medications.  With the current economy, we are watching the cost of meds and food continuously creep upward.  Along with donations through GiveSTL, we hold a yearly golf tournament at Sugar Creek in High Ridge the first Sunday of October and a yearly Trivia Night/Silent Auction the 3rd Saturday of October.  Please follow us at www.facebook.com/hootiesrescuehaven to keep updated on current rescues and volunteer opportunities.
