Heru Urban Farming and Garden

A nonprofit organization

Heru Urban Farming grows a variety of vegetables and fruit. We are most proud of our prize crop which is seven different varieties of watermelon. We also get high praises for our Asian greens such as Bok choy, tatsoi, and Japanese mustards. Not only do we grow food, we also sell honey, herbs, and medicinal tinctures. We provide a 12 week CSA (community supported agriculture) subscription (June-Aug). Every CSA we sell we donate one to a family that lives in a food desert in the St. Louis Metro Area. We sell produce at the farmers market and to the St. Louis North Sara food hub. We are currently looking towards selling produce to local restaurants and chefs.
We are in tune with the communities we serve. No matter if it's collaborating with local organizations, building raised beds for neighbors, or hiring workers from underserved communities. We also created an agricultural curriculum for primary and secondary students in the state of Missouri.  We regularly participate and contribute to a variety of outreach programs and events.

Mission

Our mission is to bring healthy sustainable produce to those who need it the most. Heru Urban Farming provides sustainable healthy local food options for food apartheid communities and local retailers. In addition to produce, we provide economic growth, hands-on training for growers, speaking engagements, health education, herbal remedies and a rebirth of togetherness within the community.
