Land
Land is connected to everyone in southern Illinois – from the food we eat to the places we live and work.
We believe that when we conserve, restore, and steward land, we invest in people’s well-being. We work with private landowners, public agencies, farmers, and community groups to conserve important ecological, agricultural, recreational, and cultural places.
We also “create” places for community enjoyment, such as parks, gardens, and trails. To date, we have helped conserve and create 10,000 acres of these important places in southern Illinois.

Water
Every living thing depends on clean water. Our region is blessed with tremendous water resources – the Mississippi River, the Kaskaskia River, wetlands, streams, and lakes. The health of the region’s streams, rivers, and lakes is connected to the health of the region’s people and the land.
We work in partnership with public agencies and residents to protect and manage water through green infrastructure, flood and climate adaptation strategies, and healthy watershed initiatives.

Communities
We work within southern Illinois communities in partnership with public agencies and residents to protect and manage water through green infrastructure, flood and climate adaptation strategies, and healthy watershed initiatives.
We work with and assist communities on projects and initiatives focused on parks, trails, planning, mapping, climate adaptation, green infrastructure, community engagement, and many other needs.
