The Green House Venture is a unique STEM program taught in a working urban agricultural environment. The program involves more than 1,200 students in the participating schools under the Urban Education Alliance, representing a diverse socio-economic and geographic spectrum.

The Alliance schools include:
- St. Margaret of Scotland (Parochial)
- Mullanphy Investigative Learning Center (Public Magnet)
- Center Cross Academy (Christian)
- Lafayette Preparatory Academy (Charter Public)
The program is guided by three overarching goals:
- Introduce elementary school children to a rich, hands-on experience that improves bio-science education
- Increase student knowledge of and appreciation for proper nutrition, and encourage children and their families to adopt healthy and sustainable urban agriculture practices
- Lead more students to potential careers in bio-science to meet the pressing needs to fill emerging jobs in agriculture and other STEM professions
This year is especially meaningful for GHV donors because our longtime dream of a state-of-the-art Education Center is now under construction.

This pivotal milestone is the crown jewel of the multi-phase development for the GHV Campus that we began in 2015, and plans are underway to begin classroom instruction in this year’s fall semester.
Going forward, our fundraising priorities will focus on the people and resources needed to ensure that the programs we deliver through the Education Center maintain the highest standards of educational excellence.
