$500 Goal

Since the first Saturday in August 2021, FRESH has provided funds to feed nutritious meals and to supplement the education of children and youth (ages 3-18) living in the South Tongu District of Ghana's Volta Region. FRESH services are provided in a small impoverished rural village.  When the project began, 75 children were fed lunch every Saturday. Now, 350-400 children are fed breakfast and lunch. The total weekly food cost in approximately $250 USD each Saturday.

Between breakfast and lunch, the young people are instructed in various disciplines in an effort to supplement their weekday school lessons. Science, math, art and English are among the disciplines. Also between meals, the children/youth engage in various recreational activities.

Over 1,500 children, some of whom walk 7-8 miles on Saturdays, have enjoyed the benefits of meals, supplemental education, safety, and fun. The parents of these children do not have the financial resources to feed the children on weekends. FRESH is filling the gap.

Since Fall 2023, FRESH has provided funds for approximately 14 youth to attend secondary school. These FRESH Kids passed the secondary school qualification exam, but did not have funds to pay for tuition, transportation, room and board, uniforms, books, and supplies. FRESH anticipates having 6-10 secondary students in the pipeline each year. The average annual cost to sponsor a secondary school student is $1,000 USD.

Your donation will help feed and educate FRESH Kids!
