Book Book Go is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation that strives to improve childhood literacy and inspire children to read every day with their families. We giveaway thousands of books every year via our giveaway bookmobile. We focus on providing award winning and inspirational books to children in underserved neighborhoods. The books we provide spark imaginations and improve attitudes about reading in a child's early childhood years and beyond. Our mission strives to eliminate the literacy gap and encourage children to have fun reading everyday. We strive to choose books that mirror the communities we serve. One distinct way we accomplish this is with our Book Bus bookmobile which provides high-quality free books that children choose and want to read. Additionally, we have provided over 1000 wooden home libraries Book Boxes to children across the St. Louis area to store their free books they have chosen from our Book Bus.
Our programming is kid-directed and, by incorporating their feedback, we've created unique solutions that go straight to the heart of the literacy crisis. Book Book Go's method uses the three tenets of Self-Determination Theory (Relatedness, Competence, and Autonomy) to activate a kid's intrinsic motivation to read and increase their literacy skills. Our goal is to break down as many barriers to reading as possible so that every child who approaches the bookmobile feels like this is something for them. We designed our programming to encourage even the most reluctant readers. We carry the books that kids and teens want the most, including a diverse array of authors and stories, and also, train adult staff and peer volunteers to help teens select the "right" books for them.

We are sparking imaginations and improving attitudes about reading for children at home and school. Our giveaway bookmobile delivers thousands of new books every year to kids in under-served neighborhoods. Book Book Go increases literacy skills among foster care, homeless, and low-income children in order to create a pathway out of poverty. We create the intrinsic motivation to read. At the most basic level, we know that literacy leads to better futures, and everyone deserves that opportunity.
