Why Being Rooted Matters

Action St. Louis was born out of a simple truth: the people closest to the challenges we face are also closest to the solutions.

From The People’s Response to tenant and homeowner organizing, to decarceration, political education, voter registration, and leadership development—we are building the infrastructure for long-term community power.

Housing Justice Organizing (We The Tenants)

Organizing tenants and homeowners to fight displacement, demand accountability, and win housing justice across our city.

Decarceration Work

Challenging harmful systems and advocating for policies that reduce incarceration and invest in our communities.

Political Education + Voter Engagement

Equipping our communities with the tools, knowledge, and opportunities to engage in the political process and shape decisions that impact our lives.

The People’s Response

A community-led model for rapid response and mutual aid, meeting immediate needs while building long-term organizing infrastructure. This campaign also houses The People's Response Fellowship, a six-month cohort of impacted residents learning how to mobilize their neighbors.

BOSS Fellowship

An 8-week intensive training program, designed to serve as a leadership development pipeline for the next generation of Black organizers and leaders to sustain movement work for years to come.
