Waigand Wheels is a St. Louis–based nonprofit creating real opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities to be active, valued members of their community.
Through hands-on, community-based experiences, participants—known as Wagoneers—step into meaningful roles that build confidence, connection, and purpose. This isn’t practice—it’s real work that matters.
In partnership with local businesses and organizations, Waigand Wheels connects community pillars with the neighbors they serve—creating genuine moments of interaction that strengthen both. Wagoneers greet customers, take orders, prepare and deliver products, and grow and package fresh produce—gaining practical skills while becoming visible, contributing members of the community.
At its core, Waigand Wheels is about more than skill-building. It’s about ensuring individuals are known, their contributions are valued, and they have a true sense of belonging.
