Sweet Babies

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization, Sweet Babies mission is to provide essential baby items for under resourced families in the Greater St. Louis area.  We are on campus at a high risk hospital that covers a 300 miles radius and support 24 counties in Missouri and 17 counties in Illinois.

Sweet Babies has 4 main programs to support families:

• The Starter Gift Bag Program provides at-risk women with newborns with a duffle bag containing diapers, clothing, and many other baby essentials equivalent to $450.00. 
• Sweet Babies also provides a Preemie Gift Bag to at-risk babies going home 4-6 lbs. that includes appropriate sized clothing for the tiny ones.  (In 2025, we assisted over 250 preemie babies, a 40% increase from 2024.)
• Sweet Babies advocates the Safe Sleep concept.  Families with no safe place for their infants to sleep are provided a Pack n' Play with additional safe sleep items and educational materials.  In 2025, Sweet Babies assisted over 200 families with safe sleep resources.
• Sweet Babies has two Outreach Programs supporting families in need of infant supplies.
  • Sweet Babies has an emergency closet at SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital providing families going to the pediatric clinics, cancer care unit and emergency with emergency supplies of diapers, clothing, wipes, and many other toiletries. 
  • Sweet Babies also supports other agencies needing baby essentials and families reaching out desperate for assistance
