About St. Josephine Bakhita Parish
St. Josephine Bakhita Parish is a vibrant and faithful Catholic community located in North St. Louis. Under the leadership of our Lead Pastor, Fr. Mitch Doyen, we are committed to living the Gospel through worship, evangelization, and service. Our parish is a place of welcome for all of God’s people, with a special and intentional outreach to those on the margins — those who may feel forgotten by the Church or unseen by society.
We believe in putting faith into action. We support St. Louis Catholic Academy, helping shape young minds and hearts with a strong foundation of education and Catholic identity. Through our We Build Together housing initiative, we are restoring hope and stability in our neighborhoods, one home at a time. Our St. Vincent de Paul ministry provides food, resources, and care for families in need. We extend compassion through our annual turkey drive, coat and sock drives, and year-round efforts to help the unhoused.
Faith formation is a cornerstone of our mission. We offer catechism classes for children and adults, host spiritual retreats, and provide professional development that deepens understanding and fosters growth. Our Bakhita’s Blessings Podcast amplifies voices from the community, inspires faith, and evangelizes with love and truth.
We are also a parish that celebrates joy and community. From roller skating nights to youth camps and creative outreach programs, we create spaces where young people and families can connect, thrive, and experience the joy of belonging.
At St. Josephine Bakhita Parish, we open wide our doors and hearts to everyone. We are building a Church where all are seen, heard, and loved — especially those who have long felt left out.
Together, we are worshipping with joy, serving with compassion, and evangelizing with courage.
