We engage ALL 6th-12th grade students to get the experience of completing a scientifically accurate research project that solves a problem important to them. Working through public, private and home schools to intentionally upgrade research teacher’s skills through extensive professional development we provide a comprehensive support ecosystem that produces 89% of the students choosing STEM careers.
Our objectives are:
- Engage students in solving real-life problems using scientific and engineering methodologies.
- Provide immersive experiences that get students excited about STEM careers.
- Train educators how to effectively coach ALL students to complete advanced original research that has scientific validity.
We believe the research innovation process is the best tool to excite, prepare and empower all STEM students to change the world.
The Science Coach program is structured like a sports team - a Head Coach and five Teacher Coaches, each with 10+ students, make up a team. Students are coached to develop an original high-level question/problem they want to answer or solve, collect data with current equipment, analyze results, infer appropriate conclusions, and enter the project into competitions. By giving students a mix of choice and responsibility, cognitive concepts and practical activities - supported by a caring and trained Teacher Coach - our complete system helps engage students in learning that is rigorous, relevant, and rewarding.
Donating to Science Coach may directly impact the world in which we all live. Your donation allows you to invest in the future of innovation by helping the Science Coach program train, equip, and compensate current and new Teacher Coaches, often from underrepresented or underserved schools, providing opportunity for 60+ students to participate. In turn, this will provide a pipeline of STEM qualified students for future diverse workforce needs.
