The MetroMarket is a mobile grocery store that travels to local communities with limited or no access to fresh, healthy food. Produce has been carefully selected from local farms and other partners, and prices are at or below cost.
Unfortunately, this program has experienced a recent setback. A federal grant through the City of St. Louis Department of Health that was intended to support four MetroMarket stops has been cancelled. This means weekly MetroMarket visits to four senior living communities in St. Louis City have been eliminated. This is a serious blow to older adults who struggle to access fresh, affordable food.

Founded in 1981, Operation Food Search is a hunger relief organization that serves 200,000 people every month in the bistate region with food, nutrition education and innovative programs. We work on meeting the immediate need for food, while also looking for long-term solutions to solve the problem of hunger. OFS empowers individuals and families and increases access to healthy and affordable food through a network of 330 community partners in 25 Missouri and Illinois counties.
