My Life in a Bag Foundation

It's heartbreaking to think about how children in foster care, residential group homes, and crisis centers may feel as they move from one place to another. That's why it's crucial to consistently meet their basic needs and help them transition with dignity and a sense of belonging. 

We can do this by reducing the use of black trash bags and boxes to carry their personal belongings and providing them with new or gently used luggage, duffle bags, and plastic storage bins. Along with these essentials, we also need to provide them with hygiene products, undergarments, socks, and pajamas. 

These children mustn't feel disposable as they move between homes. They should be able to keep their support systems, memories, and cherished belongings close to them.
