The Missouri Workers Center is a grassroots organization of low-wage workers fighting to win good jobs and defeat racism. Founded in March 2021, but with roots dating back over a decade through its Stand Up KC project, the Center empowers workers to take collective action and win better jobs with fair pay and treatment.

The Center's Amazon STL8 Organizing Committee is a major initiative uniting employees at several Amazon facilities in the St. Louis metro area. Despite the company's anti-union tactics, Amazon workers in the Committee have pushed for better wages, safer working conditions, and a voice on the job. They organized a historic strike in November 2022 when workers at STl8, Amazon's largest fulfillment center in Missouri, walked off the job to protest inhumane productivity quotas, unsafe working conditions, and low pay. The Committee has also organized protests, filed legal claims, and built a movement to hold one of the world's largest corporations accountable to its workforce.

Through actions like the 2022 strike, community organizing, education, and solidarity actions, the Missouri Workers Center gives low-wage workers in the state's urban areas the tools and support to improve their lives and challenge systemic racism. Your donation will directly enable this vital work fighting economic and racial injustice.

Mission

We are low-wage workers, Black, white and brown, urban and rural across the state of Missouri dedicated to fighting racism and winning economic justice for all. We believe that mass, democratic movements, led by working people, hold the power to defeat racism and win good jobs for all. By organizing across racial and geographic lines, we will win new policies to support working people while defeating the racist ideas that divide us. As a rooted anti-racist, working class base builds in Missouri, so too will the political power necessary to shift the political tide.
