Life's River is a transitional housing program helping individuals and families go from surviving to thriving. We offer a safe place for people experiencing homelessness to go through an up to 18-month program and are provided rent free shelter and safety while in our care. Individuals and families have up to 18-months to complete a program where they have opportunity to learn life skills, parenting skills, and money management skills while maintaining full-time employment or going to school. This is afforded through the support of public donors such as you. You are able to provide a person to go from surviving to thriving. Life's River is based out of Washington, MO and serves the people of Franklin County. Life's River opened its doors to the first residents in May 2024.
In 2025, through time, talent, treasure, and prayers, Life’s River was able to serve 35 individuals consisting of 17 adults and 18 children on their road to overcoming their battle with homelessness and being moved into self- sufficiency. In October, we started taking individual applications as well as family applications into our house. We have seen 65% of our adults find and maintain employment, 3 adults went back to school, 91% of adults learned new parenting skills, 88% of adults understand the management of money, and 7 children who had not been afforded daycare have been admitted to daycare or preschool. We have watched as 3 families have gone through the program and have successfully kept employment, finishing a degree, maintaining residency, and their children have become successful as they are learning in a school atmosphere. We consider it all wins and give glory to God for being a small part in watching people grow into this new season in their life. We cannot do this without your support. Because of you, Life’s River has supplied 3621 nights of shelter for these 35 individuals and provided 235 hours of life skills.
