Many battered women experience difficulties accessing resources due to specific cultural or language barriers. The high rates of domestic violence in the lives of impoverished women, along with higher rates of physical and mental health problems, mean that economically disadvantaged women are likely to have more complex needs than those who have more resources. At Life Source Consultants, specialized programs, outreach and prevention services have been developed and are now readily available for women of color, women in recovery from drugs and alcohol, women who have been incarcerated, women who are mentally challenged, and women age 50 and over. These specialized programs gives victims the resources, opportunities and courage to change their lives for the better (Crisis Intervention, Therapy, Case Management with follow-up, Personal and Legal Advocacy, Safety Planning, Support Groups, Christian Counseling upon request, Resources and Referrals).
Life Source Consultants mission is to provide free support services which meet the urgent emotional and physical needs of victims and survivors of domestic and/or sexual violence. We believe every woman and child deserves a safe place to live. To move past the victim stage and start to rebuild their lives and sense of self-worth, victims and survivors are provided with tools needed to begin positive personality growth, develop problem-solving, decision-making and life-survival skills.
