Walker Scottish Rite Clinic

Communication is essential to all of us, but especially children. Without age-appropriate speech and language skills, children may struggle while interacting with therapists, peers, parents, and teachers, and certainly in the academic areas of reading, writing and spelling. The Clinic provides the needed intervention for these children so that their self-esteem, socialization skills, and academic success are positive. All services are provided to families at no charge. For nearly 35years, the Walker Scottish Rite Clinic has provided service to the St. Louis community. Since 1988 more than 20,000 children have received FREE speech and language services!

Services provided by the Clinic include:
- Speech and Language Screenings
- Speech and Language Evaluations
- Individual or Group Speech and Language Therapy
- Audiological Screenings and Evaluations (limited to those enrolled in therapy programs)
- Parent Education and Training

The Clinic serves children in seven clinical locations; St. Louis City (Scottish Rite Cathedral) and County (Maryville University), Arnold (Jefferson County Health Department), Troy (Lincoln County Health Department), Union (Crider Health Center) and in two Head Start preschools - in the City of St. Louis (South Side Early Childhood Center) and in North St. Louis County (North County YWCA Head Start Center). Each child is served by a Masters-level speech and language pathologist who is certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and the Hanen Centre as well as being licensed by the Missouri State Board of Healing Arts. Therapy sessions are tailored to each child's particular needs.
