Harris House Foundation has served the St Louis metropolitan area since 1961, with the mission of helping alcoholic and chemically dependent persons achieve sobriety and become useful, healthy, and productive individuals. Harris House has a particular commitment to serving those who are low-income and underinsured. Harris House operates a continuum of care that includes inpatient treatment (detox and residential), outpatient treatment (PHP, IOP, and ECP), and transitional housing. This continuum of care allows clients to stay in treatment for an extended period of time, which increases their chances of staying sober in the long-term. Harris House also offers no-cost family and friends group sessions, family aftercare sessions, and client aftercare sessions every week. Harris House is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF); as a CARF accredited service provider, Harris House has met or exceeded over 2500 stringent and nationally recognized behavioral health standards that ensure services remain among the elite for excellence. Harris House is also a designated United Way “Safety Net” agency, providing substance abuse, mental health, and basic human services for the underserved in the St Louis metropolitan area.
