Greenway Network is an all-volunteer organization based in St. Charles County, MO that works throughout the Confluence region. Our mission is to conserve natural resources, encourage sound management of the watersheds, and protect the quality of life for the residents of the greater St. Louis area. We do this primarily through clean water education, research, restoration, and recreational programming. It is our belief that when you experience nature, you learn to love it. And once you love it, you want to take care of it.
Events include the Big Muddy Speaker Series on 2nd Wednesdays (except Sep. & Dec.) in partnership with Missouri River Relief, the Greg Poleski Memorial Cleanup, Mission: Clean Stream in April, Water Quality Monitoring of Dardenne Creek each spring and fall, and the River Soundings conference in September. https://greenwaynetwork.org/events/list/
Race for the Rivers is Greenway Network's primary fundraising event held late-August. 100% of the funds raised go to support Greenway Network's education, outreach, and conservation efforts throughout the year. Racers make their way from Weldon Spring (20 mi) or the Klondike Boat Ramp near Augusta (30 mi) to Blanchette Landing in the historic Frenchtown neighborhood in St. Charles, MO. A new project for Greenway Network is the Missouri Paddling Coalition, a driven, grass roots group dedicated to making paddling accessible to everyone. Member organizations and friends of MOPadCo gather on the first Sunday of odd-number months in locations around the state to share information, plan events, and support each other and paddling sports in our region.
