About Gateway180
Gateway180 is Missouri’s largest emergency and transitional living shelter for families. We provide a safe place for women, children, and families experiencing homelessness while helping them move toward independence, stability, and permanent housing.
Our mission is to empower adults and families to become independent and permanently housed.
At Gateway180, shelter is just the beginning. Families come to us during some of the hardest moments of their lives, and our team works alongside them to build a path forward. We provide immediate safety, basic needs, housing support, case management, and resources that help families move from crisis to stability.
What We Do
Gateway180 provides:
Emergency Shelter
A safe, 24-hour temporary home for families experiencing homelessness, including meals, basic needs, support, and stability during a time of crisis.
Housing-Focused Case Management
Individualized support to help families identify barriers, create housing plans, connect to resources, and work toward long-term independence.
Transitional Housing
Additional housing support and timelines for individuals and families who may face greater barriers to stability and need more time and resources before moving fully into permanent housing.
Children’s Services and Support
Programming, tutoring, activities, and supportive services that help children feel safe, supported, and cared for while their families work toward housing stability.
On-Site Mental Health Services
Access to counseling, occupational therapy, and mental health support for adults and children as they navigate the trauma and stress that often come with homelessness.
Our Impact
Gateway180 served 429 people in 2025, and 55% of our clients were children. The average age of the individuals we serve is just 9 years old.
