Girls in the Know

For 15 years, Girls in the Know (GITK) has educated pre-teen girls alongside a trusted adult so they would know how to navigate the challenging teen years with confidence. GITK works to ensure that every girl knows her self-worth and is empowered to make the right decisions for her safe and healthy growth and development.  Knowledge is power, and the more she knows, the more a girl can confidently navigate adolescence, advocate for her needs, and share with and encourage others.

GITK's programming creates safe spaces to begin important conversations that could last a lifetime. GITK empowers girls through education to say I AM ENOUGH and provides a pathway to healthy choices, thus avoiding at-risk behaviors. We believe EVERY girl, regardless of her situation deserves access to critical, fact-based information.

GITK serves pre-teen girls throughout the St. Louis metropolitan area with hopes of educating and empowering them with the knowledge to assist them as they navigate their teen years into adulthood. GITK proudly serves over 600 girls annually through its core programs and outreach. Partnering with school districts and community organizations, we empower girls with educational programs and resources, open dialogue, mentorship and continued support during their preteen and teenage years. We accomplish this through our free School-Based Empowerment Workshops, four sessions that address critical topics for young girls in today's world.
