In St. Louis, stability can be the difference between survival and possibility.

At Depaul USA, we meet people where they are and walk with them as they rebuild their lives with dignity, safety, and support. From newly arrived refugee families to young adults aging out of youth systems and adults living with complex disabilities, our programs are designed to provide not just housing, but a real foundation for long-term stability.

Refugee Housing
When families arrive in St. Louis after fleeing conflict and displacement, safe housing is often their first step toward rebuilding. Our affordable housing programs support refugee families experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity.

  • In October 2023, St. Michael’s House opened its doors to a Ukrainian family beginning a new chapter in safety and stability.
  • In November 2025, Zoé House welcomed a Congolese family, offering not just shelter, but a place to belong.

These homes represent more than housing, they represent welcome, dignity, and a chance to begin again.

St. Lazare House
St. Lazare House is St. Louis’ first permanent supportive housing program for youth, offering 17 fully furnished one-bedroom apartments with 24/7 on-site support. Residents receive comprehensive services including trauma-informed care, physical and behavioral health support, education and workforce development, and life skills coaching. Here, young people don’t just find housing—they find stability, guidance, and a path forward.

Project PLUS & Project MORE
Through scattered-site supportive housing, Depaul USA provides stable homes for more than 80 chronically homeless adults living with disabilities in St. Louis. Many survive on little or fixed income. With consistent support and permanent housing, individuals once trapped in cycles of instability are able to focus on health, recovery, and rebuilding their lives with dignity.

Your support on St. Louis Gives Day makes this work possible. It helps open doors, keep lights on, and ensure that housing is paired with the care and community people need to thrive not just today, but for the long term. Every gift is a step toward stability.

Mission

We aim to end homelessness and change the lives of those affected by it.

Depaul USA envisions a society in which everyone has a place to call home and a stake in his/her community.
