Over the past decade, cybersecurity has become a critical issue that affects every person, company, and community. As cyber risk evolves with emerging technologies like AI, people are needed who are ready to protect systems and maintain resilience. CyberUp was founded outside the gates of Scott Air Force Base in 2015 by a group of visionary leaders who saw the need to grow the cybersecurity workforce in St. Louis and beyond. CyberUp is committed to creating free, accessible, and inclusive pathways to high-paying cybersecurity skill paths and careers for youth and adults. Our efforts ensure the country will be ready to protect our networks today and tomorrow. CyberUp is a workforce development organization that starts working with students as early as 1st grade. Our K-career focus will ignite passion in the next generation of cyber professionals. Our turnkey workforce programs streamline recruitment, hiring, and retention while facilitating partner participation in volunteer initiatives for our employer partners. Our strategic partnerships with schools, nonprofits, and military communities allow partner employers to expand their workforce around diversity and inclusion. Our specialized focus on cyber allows us to tailor our efforts and provide the best experience for our students, candidates, apprentices, and partner employers. To support growth in the St. Louis region's cybersecurity workforce, CyberUp has developed learning paths and advocates for skills-based hiring to get closer to full employment. Our programs have three primary objectives:
PowerUp - Introduce students to cybersecurity to better protect themselves and learn about cybersecurity skill paths post-K12
LevelUp Training - Train, prepare, and start an individual’s cybersecurity career
LevelUp Apprenticeship - Partner with employers to incorporate skills-based hiring into their hiring strategy
