Crying Out Loud Grief Advocates

A nonprofit organization

Crying Out Loud Grief Advocates is a support group for families that have experienced traumatic loss.  This ministry was birthed out of our own personal pain.  In 2020 Our son Sylvester "Pjay " Hines was murdered through senseless gun violence.  The pain, hurt and sorrow was unbearable and I knew we were in need of help.  I immediately sought out professional counseling for our family breaking the stigma that often plagues our communities.  I learn to talk about what I was feeling, how to express what I was feeling, and that I didn't have to face this grieving process alone.   Breaking the sigma associated with receiving mental help became our passion.  We know the pain that often goes suppressed in our communities and we decided to do something about it.  We begin to educate ourselves and became grief advocates.  We have experience the power of healing and have found that when people learn how to put words to what is going on internally then the healing process will begin.  We want every family that crosses or path to experience that liberation. We believe in helping the hurting and healing together.  We offer a safe place for families to process and heal after a traumatic loss in our support groups. We partner with Bridges to Care to offer access to  license counselors. We encourage talk therapy, we we equip our attendees with coping strategies, lunch and an opportunity to build community with those that are seeking healing.  We hold Live events every 2nd and 4th Tuesday speaking on various topics related to the grief journey.  It has been a rewarding journey of hope and healing that we are honored to be participants in.
